Cookin’ on Kampeska is the Kampeska Wing Fling revamped, reinvented and revved up! The biggest change to the already successful family friendly event is the addition of a State Championship Kansas City Barbeque Society Sanctioned BBQ Competition. With over $8,000 in prize money to be given away along with a bid to the National BBQ Competition, Cookin’ on Kampeska is expected to draw both national and international competitors. Organizers are also planning to host a KCBS judging school to get locals involved in the event.

While we are thrilled with the addition of the BBQ competition, we are also ramping up the entertainment this year with the addition of Kory and the Fireflies on Saturday night. They have created what’s been described as “pop rock with punch.” The band also has a special gift for connecting with the audiences and creating a magical unity at almost every show. They’ve toured with Goo Goo Dolls, Sugar Ray and Smash Mouth and supported over sixty more national acts including Sheryl Crow, Kid Rock and many others.
