Letter from the Chairman

Tim Oviatt CHAIRMAN OF THE BOARD Watertown Public Opinion
Thank you for logging on to the Watertown Area Chamber of Commerce’s recently new web site. I am confident you will find that our user-friendly web site has been designed to interactively portray the many activities, projects, events, committees and issues the Chamber either sponsors or otherwise plays an active and contributing role.
Your Chamber’s Board of Directors has 15 busy standing committees – ranging from agriculture and the arts to leadership, retail and manufacturing. The committees are contributing elements if not pillars to the Chamber’s goals of enhancing community partnership with other organizations, increasing Watertown’s visibility in the region, effectively projecting to both members and the public an awareness of the many services, activities and objectives that encompass the Chamber, and promoting the highest quality of life and prosperity for Watertown.
You will observe from this web site that your Chamber’s staff and committees have an energetic if not demanding calendar. With more than 85% of Watertown area businesses opting to be a part of this Chamber (50% is more normal in this part of the US), activity continues to amplify if not intensify as changes and growth come to Watertown.
If you are not already a member of the Watertown Area Chamber, please take a few moments to “surf” this web site and review the many components that comprise the efforts and direction being initiated or directed by the Chamber. Our accomplishments are a direct result of our members’ resources – both commitment and capital. This is your invitation to join Watertown’s leading business advocacy voice.
And to our 700+ members, these are your pages on the Internet that are designed to illustrate the activities of your Chamber and the business climate of Watertown as well as be used as a resource to tool to help you run a progressive business. As always, your suggestions and ideas are valued and welcome.
Thanks for signing on.
Tim Oviatt
