Join Watertown’s Sea of Goodwill on September 19th as we honor our Veterans and First Responders with a free meal, displays, entertainment and program. This year, we are extending special recognition to the families of currently deployed service members from the Watertown Area. The Watertown Sea of Goodwill and Watertown Community Foundation invite everyone out to the BG Ernie Edwards Readiness Center for an evening honoring our military, veterans, and first responders – and their families. Watertown’s 6th Annual Veterans’/First Responders’ Appreciation Day event will be held September 19th 2019 at the Readiness Center from 4:30 to 7:30. Show your support for those who serve us by attending the appreciation meal and program at 6pm on September 19th. Before and after the program, Veteran/First Responder Support Organizations from all over South Dakota will be providing information, offering services for our heroes, and providing demonstrations and hands-on experiences. Through the great support of our underwriters and sponsors, this event is free to public.
Displays from over 40 organizations will open at 4:30 offering their services or discuss the support they can provide to those who serve. Games and activities for children are also planned. There will be a short program from 6:00 to 6:30. The program will recognize our community’s veterans and first responders, as well as their families and the area businesses who support them.
Come join all our Heroes, their families, and Veterans Support Organizations as Watertown’s way of saying THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE. Families are encouraged to bring their children. Through the generosity of our sponsors, this event is free to the public.
For additional information on the event, contact the Sea of Goodwill at 882-5620. Mike Cartney, Sea of Goodwill Chair at 881-6198 or Jo Vitek, Vice Chair Sea of Goodwill, 880-6201 are also available to discuss the event.
