National Night Out
When: August 2014
Where: Watertown Police Department
Each year, numerous area agencies come together to heighten crime and drug awareness and strengthen police-community partnerships during National Night Out. Representatives from local law enforcement agencies and other various organizations display their equipment as part of a community awareness project. Local organizations serve grilled hot dogs and hamburgers, free rootbeer floats, and sponsor activities for the entire family. Each year, over 15,000 organizations come together to make their cities safer and send out the message to criminals that by working together we will make our communities a safe place for all to live, work and raise our families.

New Teachers’ Luncheon
When: August 2014
Every August, the Watertown Area Chamber of Commerce sponsors a luncheon to welcome new teachers to the Watertown community.

Annual Meeting & Dessert Auction: September 2014
In 2014, the Chamber will celebrate 99 years of excellence at the Annual Meeting & Dessert Auction. It is a celebration of our successful business community, and our annual fundraising event. The proceeds from the evening will go to continuing the mission of the Chamber of Commerce, to be the leader in developing a progressive business climate in Northeast South Dakota.

Holiday Membership Showcase
When: November 7, 2013
Where: Codington County Extension Complex
The annual Holiday Membership Showcase, sponsored by Hy-Vee, is a wonderful avenue for networking and showcasing your products and services to hundreds of Chamber members. A fantastic array of hors d’oeuvres and holiday treats are available for sampling, along with some amazing door prizes.

Women’s Escape Expo

Santa’s Great Giveaway
When: January 2014
Where: Codington County Extension Complex
Santa’s Great Giveaway promotion encourages shoppers to do their shopping at local participating businesses. For every $100 spent at participating merchants during Thanksgiving through New Year’s Day, shoppers receive a ticket to enter Santa’s Great Giveaway drawing where they have the chance to win gifts from participating businesses, $100, $250, $500 or the grand prize of $1000 in Watertown Bucks! Shoppers must be present to win. Santa’s Great Giveaway is designed to support the local business community and reward those who shop in Watertown.

Watertown Winter Farm Show
When: February 11-15, 2014
Where: Codington County Extension Complex/Old Armory
The Watertown Winter Farm Show is a five day event filled with entertainment and education for all ages. The Farm Show is an outlet for the agriculture community to share new programs, opportunities, and ideas. Featured events include livestock shows and sales, home and family programs, educational presentations, commercial exhibits, zoo demonstrations, and a Lego contest.

The Mighty Thomas Carnival
When: June 2014
Come one, come all! The Mighty Thomas Carnival comes to Watertown one weekend in June every year to provide fun-filled entertainment for the entire family. The carnival is held in the City Parking lot on the corner of Kemp Avenue and 3rd Street East. Step right up and enjoy the numerous rides, games, and concessions The Mighty Thomas Carnival has to offer in Uptown Watertown!

4th of July Celebration

July 4, 2014

Each year, thousands of area residents and visitors help us celebrate our nation’s independence at Watertown’s Annual Fourth of July Parade and Stadium Celebration. The parade takes place along Kemp Avenue in uptown Watertown, beginning at 2:00 p.m. Gates open at the Watertown Stadium at 6:00 p.m. where you can enjoy activities for kids, a live music performance, and a spectacular fireworks display.

Cookin’ on Kampeska

When: July 18-19, 2014
Where: Stokes-Thomas City Park
Join us at Stokes-Thomas City Park on Lake Kampeska on Friday, July 18 and Saturday, July 19 for some fun-filled family entertainment. Activities include a coed volleyball tournament, children’s inflatables, live music, Little Miss and Mr. Kampeska contests, a sanctioned Kansas City Barbeque Society BBQ Competition, a salsa cook-off contest, and thrilling featured entertainment TBA!
