Santa’s Great Giveaway promotion encourages shoppers to do their shopping at local participating businesses. For every $100 spent at participating merchants during Black Friday through New Year’s Day, shoppers receive a ticket to enter Santa’s Great Giveaway drawing where they have the chance to win gifts from participating businesses, $100, $250, $500 or the grand prize of $1000 in Watertown Bucks! The Watertown Winter Farm Show is a five day event filled with entertainment and education for all ages. Celebrating our 67th year, we have been an outlet for the agriculture community to share new programs, opportunities, and ideas. Featured events include livestock shows and sales, home and family programs, educational presentations, commercial exhibits, zoo demonstrations and a Lego contest to the Watertown community. The Watertown Farmer’s Market is open every Saturday from 8:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon at the Running’s parking lot on the corner of Highway 212 and 19th Street SE. Beginning mid-August, the market will also be open from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Tuesdays. All of the products sold through the Farmer’s Market are grown locally in NE South Dakota and sold through family operated vendors. Come one, come all! The Mighty Thomas Carnival comes to Watertown one weekend in June every year to provide fun-filled entertainment for the entire family. The carnival is held in the City Parking lot on the corner of Kemp Avenue and 3rd Street East. Step right up and enjoy the numerous rides, games, and concessions The Mighty Thomas Carnival has to offer in Uptown Watertown!

Each year, thousands of area residents and visitors help us celebrate our nation’s independence at Watertown’s Annual 4th of July Parade and Stadium Celebration. The parade takes place along Kemp Avenue in uptown Watertown, beginning at 2:00 p.m. Gates open at the Watertown Stadium at 6:00 p.m. where you can enjoy activities for kids, a live music performance, and a spectacular fireworks display.

Join us at Stokes-Thomas City Park on Lake Kampeska on Friday, July 20th and Saturday, July 21st for some fun-filled family entertainment. Activities typically include a coed volleyball tournament, water ski show, children’s inflatables, live music, Little Miss and Mr. Kampeska contests, a classic car and motorcycle show, and of course, a wing cook-off contest!

The Watertown Area Chamber of Commerce Retail Advisory Committee kicks off the weekend of the annual Redlin Art Center Event with the Summer Sell-ebration city-wide retail promotion. Our Summer Sell-ebration provides shoppers in Watertown with great sales as well as great entertainment.

The Redlin family and the Redlin Art Center began a tradition of a summer concert celebration with an outdoor concert by Mannheim Steamroller in 2004. Since then, each August, thousands of visitors have enjoyed concerts by Lee Greenwood; Ronnie Milsap; Larry Gatlin and the Gatlin Brothers; The Oak Ridge Boys; Sawyer Brown; and BlackHawk, Little Texas and Restless Heart on their Triple Threat Tour! The Redlin Art Center strives to make the even bigger and better for the community and those who travel to the event from surrounding states.

Each year, numerous area agencies come together to heighten crime and drug awareness and strengthen police-community partnerships during National Night Out. Representatives from local law enforcement agencies and other various organizations display their equipment as part of a community awareness project. Local organizations serve grilled hot dogs and hamburgers, free rootbeer floats, and sponsor activities for the entire family. Each year, over 15,000 organizations come together to make their cities safer and send out the message to criminals that by working together we will make our communities a safe place for all to live, work and raise our families.

Every August, the Watertown Area Chamber of Commerce sponsors a luncheon to welcome new teachers to the Watertown community.

In September 2012, the Chamber will celebrate 97 years of excellence at the Annual Meeting & Dessert Auction. It is a celebration of our successful business community, and our annual fundraising event. The proceeds from the evening will go to continuing the mission of the Chamber of Commerce, to be the leader in developing a progressive business climate in Northeast South Dakota.

Join us at the Codington County Extension Complex on Saturday, November 19, 2011 for the 3rd Annual Women’s Escape expo. Numerous vendors will be present throughout the weekend, so you can do a little shopping and socializing between various educational breakout sessions. The annual Holiday Membership Showcase, sponsored by Hy-Vee, is a wonderful avenue for networking and showcasing your products and services to hundreds of Chamber members. A fantastic array of hors d’oeuvres and holiday treats are available for sampling, along with some amazing door prizes.
