Chamber to Host Two Candidate Forums in October
The Watertown Area Chamber of Commerce will host Candidates Forums on Tuesday, October 25 and Wednesday, October 26, at the Lake Area Technical Institute Student Center.
The forum on October 25 will feature Codington County Commission candidates and S.D. State District 5 House of Representatives candidates. The following evening will include S.D. State District 4 House of Representatives Candidates and S.D. State District 4 Senate Candidates.
All Codington County Commission and S.D. District 4 and District 5 Legislative candidates have been invited to attend.
The October 25 forum is scheduled to begin with county commission candidates Harlan (Charlie) Waterman and Dianne Easthouse at 6:00 p.m., followed by candidates Troy VanDusen and Elmer Brinkman at 6:45 p.m.
At 7:30 p.m., the forum will include S.D. House of Representatives - District 5 Legislative candidates Shelly Alvine, Charles (Chuck) Haan, Hugh Bartels and Nancy York.
The October 26 forum is scheduled to begin at 6:00 p.m. with District 4 House of Representatives candidates John Mills, Jason W. Kettwig, Matt Rosdahl and Peggy Schuelke. At 6:45 p.m., District 4 State Senate candidates John Wiik and Kathy Tyler will take the stage.
The public is invited and encouraged to attend.
The general election is Tuesday, November 8, 2016.
Moderators for the candidates forums will be Roger Whittle of the Watertown Public Opinion, David J. Law of KXLG Radio, and Mike Tanner of Watertown Radio.
