Five new board members will join the Watertown Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors as the organization begins its 101st year of serving the community.
“We’re thrilled to add these five individuals to our board,” said Megan Gruman, president and CEO of the Watertown Area Chamber of Commerce. “They will bring a diverse outlook and work well with our existing board as we continue to work on moving Watertown forward.”
David Eickmeyer, a financial associate with Thrivent Financial, has lived in Watertown for the past 12 years and in the Glacial Lakes area for the past 22 years. He lead this summer’s first Kids’ Que at Cookin’ on Kampeska. Other volunteer involvement in the community includes the National Wild Turkey Federation, Hosanna Lutheran Youth Group, Junior Achievement and Optimists Club.
Stewart Flanery, human resources manager for Worthington Industries, recently returned to South Dakota after spending the past 15 years in Minneapolis, Minn. A native of the Arlington/Brookings area, Flanery has worked in all areas of human resources from manufacturing to service industries.
Kate Jurrens, property manager and part owner of Lake Area Suites, has lived in Watertown the past 36 years. In addition to managing Watertown’s new student apartment complex near Lake Area Technical Institute, she is an active volunteer at Watertown Christian School.
Jon May, managing owner of Discount Liquors, has called Watertown home for the past 38 years. He became involved in the Chamber as a participating business in the Chamber’s Nine at Night Glow Golf Tournament and the St. Patrick’s Day Celebration.
Danielle Mikkelson, shareholder, certified public accountant and certified valuation analyst for Vilhauer Raml & Snyder P.C. has lived in Watertown for the past eight years. A Leadership Watertown graduate, Mikkelson has been involved in the Watertown Farm Show, Adopt the First Grade, 4-H Barbeque and Farm Business Appreciation Banquet.
Leading the Watertown Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors for 2015-2016 will be Tim Sheehan, a long-standing Chamber board member, Watertown native and business account executive with Vast Broadband.
